Botanical Garden Tours

Sunshine Coast Botanical Garden

The Sunshine Coast Botanical Garden is located in beautiful Sechelt, BC.  This exceptional 16-hectare (40-acre) property is ideally suited for a botanical garden.  Its past as an ornamental tree farm has left it with significant mature trees, grassy meadows, a nearly-intact deer fence, three irrigation ponds, and some remnant farm buildings.  Paths are already established to some areas, and the deep ravine of Wakefield Creek frames the west side of the site.

Garden tours every Sunday afternoon throughout the warmer months.  The 45 minute guided tour will take visitors through the property, with many mature and unusual trees, native plants and three large ponds. It’s a treat for all the senses. You’ll have an opportunity to see our large demonstration organic vegetable garden and Seniors Community Garden.

Tofino Botanical Garden

Twelve acres of shoreline, old growth temperate rainforest, herb gardens, a duck pond and a secret children’s garden: Tofino Botanical Gardens represents the best of Tofino and Clayoquot Sound. Manicured paths and elevated boardwalks meander past sculptures, hidden pocket gardens and a few fun surprises. The natural history library at the garden’s Interpretive Centre is the perfect place to sip coffee or tea after your afternoon of discovery. Or walk back down to our shoreline and contemplate the complexities of life with the bald eagles and great blue herons.
